One of the first forms of media was the bell. The bell can ring for freedom or it may just call you to dinner. Regardless of why the bell tolls it is the punctuation of attention. The peal of the bell can set the tone and attitude to roust a fireman to duty, call the cows home, or send you to sleep with a serenade.
